COVID-19 Procedures and Reporting Guidelines for the New Academic Year (08/20/24)

Dear Faculty and Staff,

As we begin the new academic year, we wanted to take a moment to remind everyone of the Colleges current COVID-19 procedures. Your health and safety, along with that of our students and community, remain our top priority.

If You Test Positive for COVID-19:

  1. Notify the College: Please inform Nurse Stephanie Garcia Barragan as soon as possible. You can reach Nurse Stephanie at (909) 607-0616 or sgba2020@pomona.edu. (Please do not contact the COVID Support Email as that is for student use only).
  2. Daily Health Check: You may also notify the College by filling out the Daily Health Check
  3. Follow Instructions: Nurse Stephanie will provide you with the latest Los Angeles County Department of Public Health Guidelines for COVID 19 for your return to campus.

If You Are Exposed to Someone with COVID-19:

  1. Monitor Symptoms: Be vigilant for any signs of illness. If symptoms develop, stay home and get tested.
  2. Wear a Mask: Follow the current guidelines on mask usage, particularly if you’ve been exposed.
  3. Testing: You should test 3-5 days from the last known exposure even if you are asymptomatic, especially if you’re at higher risk. Free antigen tests are available at the clinic on a first come first serve basis.
  4. Walk-in Hours: The clinic offers walk-in hours every Tuesday 8:30am-10:30am or Thursday 2:00pm to 3:30pm. You may also schedule an appointment to best using the following .
  5. Consult with Nurse Stephanie: If you have any questions about your exposure or next steps.

General COVID-19 Precautions:

  • Hand Hygiene: Regular handwashing and the use of hand sanitizers are strongly encouraged.
  • Social Distancing: Where possible, maintain a safe distance from others, particularly in crowded or enclosed spaces.
  • Vaccinations: We encourage everyone to stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccinations as recommended by health authorities.
