The Geology Department is pleased to announce the 40th annual Woodford-Eckis Lectureship, which will be held on February 28th and 29th, 2020.
This year鈥檚 honored guest is , a Senior Staff Scientist at Carnegie Institution鈥檚 Geophysical Laboratory and Clarence Robinson Professor of Earth Sciences at George Mason University. Dr. Hazen鈥檚 extensive research span mineralogical and crystallographic studies, to astrobiology, and that work has blossomed into holistic studies of possible roles of minerals in the origin of life, mineral evolution, and the coevolution of the geosphere and biosphere. Dr. Hazen has authored more than 400 papers and 25 books.
